husband because she was an Igbo Christian and him a Yoruba Muslim.
"My
parents accepting my husband was a big issue. The issue was more than
he is a Yoruba man snf to crown it all, a musician. It took a while for
them to accept him, hey also saw that he was a Muslim who could marry
more than one wife and being a FUji artist will make him do the worst."
"They
also believed then that even as he is eductaed, this will not change
anything about him. My parents lived in Onitsha and they have all their
businesses therr. I prayed and after much contemplation they accepted.
Then when they prayed, I would say 'Father, if this is love that I and
Wale are feeling, let this thing last and let people know that we made
the right choices"
